4th Annual Martinsville Block Party to be held August 15-16
The fourth annual Martinsville Block Party will be held on Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Friday, August 15
Chill at the ‘Ville on Friday evening with a car show featuring cars, trucks, jeeps, motorcycles and side-by-side vehicles in downtown Martinsville. The Top 30 entries will receive awards in categories such as Best Motorcycle, Best Semi, Best Side-by-Side, Loudest Exhaust. Registration for the car show begins at 6 p.m., costs $10 and includes a free gift.
The 3rd Annual Motorcycle Rodeo hosted by the Spiritual Disciples Motorcycle Ministry will be held on Washington Street starting at 5 p.m. Signup starts at 4 p.m. Contact Melissa Garner or Alex Hammond for information.
The Highway 130 Band will perform live starting at 8 p.m.
Food trucks and vendors will be operating during the event. Saturday, August 16
Saturday morning evenings kick off with the Dirty Shoe Gravel Race presented by Pilson Pedalworks. The race will feature a 65-mile Open and Womens races starting at 8:45 a.m. At 9 a.m. the twelve-mile and thirty-mile races begin. Registration is limited to 200 racers. Chancellor House Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a new exhibit entitled “Clark County Rural Schools and Lincoln School.”
Additionally from 10 a.m. to noon, there will be a Tombstone Cleaning Workshop presented by Kim Roberts. Everyone who attends will have a chance to win a starter tombstone cleaning kit.
From Noon to 2 p.m., there will be a Fly Tying Demonstration presented by Eric Svika – the art of tying flies used in fly fishing. Jeanette Huisinga will demonstrate the art of spinning fleece wool into yarn from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Martinsville Fire Department will host the 4th Annual Waterball Tournament, in which area firefighter teams compete using fire hoses to maneuver a ball hanging from a cable towards the opposing team’s goal. It’s a fun way to practice hose handling skills, teamwork, and communication, which are vital in fire fighting situations. Check in will start at 11 a.m. with the competition starting at noon.
Registration starts at 3 p.m. for the Cornhole Tournament. Competition starts at 4 p.m. 20 teams will be allowed to compete for three cash prizes. 1st place will win $250, 2nd place wins $100 and 3rd place takes home $50. Music during the Cornhole Tournament will be provided by DJ Roy Rice.
Saturday evening from 8 to 11 p.m., enjoy the live classic hard rock music of Stone Blue on the main stage.
All money raised during the Block Party on Saturday night will go to support many local scholarships presented by The North Place.
