WMMC updates streaming platform for First Financial Classic Coverage

WMMC has updated its live streaming platform for the remainder of the First Financial Classic basketball tournament following the unexpected removal of the stations YouTube channel due to an automated enforcement action.

The channel removal occurred without advance warning and followed a rapid, automated review process. While an appeal was submitted, the decision was upheld within minutes. As a result, WMMC has transitioned its remaining tournament live streams to an alternate platform to ensure uninterrupted coverage for listeners, families, and fans.

All remaining games will now be streamed live via Vimeo, which offers a reliable viewing experience and can be accessed directly.

In a statement posted earlier, JKO Media owner Joey O’Rourke noted that the company takes great pride in providing comprehensive coverage of the First Financial Classic, having streamed all 28 games of the tournament. He acknowledged that while technical issues can arise despite best efforts, the interruption during the final game of the evening was both unexpected and frustrating.

O’Rourke added that an appeal of YouTube’s automated enforcement decision was submitted and promptly denied, and emphasized JKO Media’s commitment to ensuring that the remaining games are broadcast without further disruption.

WMMC appreciates the patience and understanding of viewers as the station adapts to platform changes outside of its control.
