    Local Schools Veterans Day Programs 2025

    Local schools in Clark County will honor veterans with breakfasts and programs on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

    Marshall

    The fifth graders of North Elementary School will be presenting their Annual Veteran’s Day program at 1pm at the Forsythe Performing Arts Center/ Junior High Gym.

    All veterans are encouraged to attend, and the community is welcome. This special program is aimed at showing respect and gratitude for those people who have served our country and who have helped preserve the rights and freedoms we have today.

    The National Road Quilters’ Guild will also be there to present 5 veterans quilts.

    Monroe Elementary – Casey

    Monroe Elementary in Casey, Illinois will host its Veterans Day program on Tuesday, November 11, at 9am in the gym. After the program, veterans are invited to stay for breakfast in the cafeteria. Send RSVP to Brittany Kibler at the school.

    All veterans and their families are invited to breakfast at Martinsville High School on Tuesday, November 11 at 8am. The students of Martinsville will present a Veterans Day program at 9am. All families and the community are welcome to attend.

    Willow Creek Church Bazaar to be held at Martinsville Community Center

    On Friday, November 7, the Willow Creek Church Bazaar will be held at Martinsville Township Community Center. From 9am to 6pm baked goods and crafts will be on sale.

    From 11am to 6pm a Soup Meal will be available including soup sandwich, a homemade dessert and drink. Cost of the meal is $10.

    Changing Hands Resale Shoppe to hold 2nd Annual Toy & Christmas Décor Sale

    On Friday, November 7th from 3 to 7pm and Saturday, November 8th from 9am to noon, the Changing Hands will hold its second annual Toy and Christmas Decor Sale upstairs at the Martinsville Community Center.

    Changing Hands Store will be open regular hours.

    Enjoy early shopping at affordable prices.

    All proceeds support community projects.

    Volunteers needed for Tree Planting Day Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in Martinsville

    Tuesday, November 4, 2025 a tree planting will be held at 8:30 am at the Martinsville Recreation Complex.

    Classes from Martinsville Schools will attend and local arborist Stephen Johnson will be there to teach about native species and care techniques.

    Volunteers are needed to help plant 45 trees throughout the park and along community trails. This event is made possible through the TreesForever organization.

    Lunch and Drinks will be provided, please contact City Hall at 217-382-4323 to sign up.

    Martinsville JR/SR High School to host Autumn Market on Saturday, October 4, 2025

    The Martinsville High School Agriculture & Industrial Arts Program will host the Autumn Market at the FFA Greenhouse on Saturday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    According to the post on Facebook, the Business department will have fall decor with FBLA serving caramel apples.
    The Family Consumer Science Department will have a variety of baked goods and will be helping with the Kid Zone.
    The Ag Department will have mums, straw bales, fall wood crafts/decor and cotton candy as well as helping with the Kid Zone.
    There will also be several other vendors which include pure Michigan maple syrup, local honey, pumpkins (hopefully) and a hat vendor with fun patches!

    Marshall Lions at Casey-Westfield Warriors

    Friday night brings an exciting clash as the Marshall Lions travel to Casey to take on the undefeated Casey-Westfield Warriors in the Warriors’ homecoming game. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Sinclair-Vidoni Field. Tune in to WMMC Radio 105.9 FM for the pre-game show starting at 6:00 p.m., or catch all the action live online at wmmcradio.com.

    Paris Tigers

    The Paris Tigers are back at home on Friday, welcoming the Newton Eagles for a Little Illini Conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

    Martinsville Bluestreaks

    The Martinsville Bluestreaks homecoming game with Palestine-Hutsonville has been cancelled due to low roster numbers. Unfortunately, the Bluestreaks were unable to secure another team as a replacement. All other Homecoming activities will be held as scheduled.

    Friday also means homecoming parades! Casey-Westfield kicks things off at 3:00 p.m. on North Central Avenue, while Martinsville marches along Cumberland Street at the same time. Don’t miss the floats, bands, and school spirit!
